Maripaz Velázquez

Wahr Re is led by Maripaz Velázquez, who brings more than 30 years of experience across underwriting, treaty and facultative reinsurance placement, and the management of international insurance programs. Before establishing Wahr Re LLC, Maripaz served as Executive Vice President of La Colonial, S.A., where she held senior responsibility across the business.

Our Chief Operations Officer, Julio Méndez, brings more than 25 years of experience across insurance operations, technology and administration. Julio supports Wahr Re’s operating model, systems and execution, with a focus on practical solutions and continuous improvement.
